There are two steps to become a qualified Group Fitness Instructor.

STEP 1  You need to successfully complete Certificate III in Fitness (SIS03015)

STEP 2 You need to successfully complete this group fitness specialisation course before you want to get in the area you wish to teach. If your dream is to teach fitness formats such as aerobics, circuit, step, boxing, gym training or bootcamp, then the Group Fitness specialisation is the course you’ll need to complete. This standalone,  specialisation  can be completed in up to three months and will enable you to work and be insured as a Group Fitness Instructor.

Once you are a qualified Group Fitness Instructor, you may like to expand your teaching repertoire (and income-earning capacity) to teach other classes. This could include:

PRE-REQUISITE: Successful completion of Certificate III in Fitness (SIS03015)

Women often want a total body workout that will attack those dreaded problem areas — legs, butt, thighs and arms. They want to get fit quick, do something different, have a tale to tell or an impressive photo to post, and have some fun at the same time! This is why the new Barre Attack program, powered by Network, is one of the fastest growing fitness formats to hit Aussie shores. Offered by some Fitness First clubs already, there are currently hundreds of qualified Barre Attack instructors throughout the country, each of whom are already reaping the professional benefits of being able to deliver this unique program.

Pioneered by former professional ballerina Renee Scott, Barre Attack is a moderate resistance-based 45 to 60-minute total body workout which is designed for females who are serious about their strength training and who want to ‘feel the burn’ but without lifting heavy weights.

Developed in Australia for Australians, Barre Attack requires no license or ongoing fees, making it the ideal solution for any fitness/health professional, studio or health club seeking to attract new participants and get results that their clients and members will rave about.

PRE-REQUISITE: Successful completion of Certificate III in Fitness (SIS03015)

The fitness industry has embraced a mainstream version of yoga, and as a result the demand for instructors and classes is reliably consistent.

Becoming a Yoga Instructor in the fitness industry is slightly different to becoming a traditional Yoga Teacher. fitnessU has partnered with YogaFit®, which is the largest yoga fitness education school in the world, to transform passionate Group Fitness Instructors into qualified and credible fitness-focused Yoga Instructors.

YogaFit® teaches all the traditions of yoga – balance, strength, flexibility and power – but it does so from a fitness and exercise science approach. This fusion is the opportunity for you to introduce yoga to everyone, regardless of his or her fitness level, which is important since the benefits of yoga are available to anyone who has a breath!

YogaFit® is designed to improve the health, performance, and mental acuteness of athletes or any individual who practices regularly. Based on the traditional fitness science of Hatha yoga, YogaFit® blends balance, strength, flexibility and power into a tried and tested fitness format.

PRE-REQUISITE: Successful completion of Certificate III in Fitness (SIS03015)

Similar to the way yoga has been adapted and integrated into the mainstream fitness industry, so too has Pilates; so the demand for instructors is also constant.

From this course you’ll learn how to adapt Pilates-based movements to all ages and abilities in a fitness environment.
For your convenience this course is delivered 100 per cent by correspondence, so you can study from home, around your existing demands.

Australian Fitness Network’s international reputation for producing the finest quality Pilates Instructors means that as a graduate your qualification will be instantly recognised and highly regarded, which will boost your employability – including internationally!
